Meteor

A planet-destroying meteor is heading straight for Earth. Nothing we haven’t seen before. NASA uses a laser to destroy it. The day is saved… until it’s revealed that the comet was made entirely of an element that when heated up (in this case by laser) turns into molten magma in the sky, and there is enough of it to cover the entire planet in this hyper-heated coating and destroy the world. Liquid being impervious to the usual ways of stopping meteors, NASA and Space Force must put their heads together to solve hell from raining down upon them.
